More crazy mountains from Cafayate to Salta. They were amazing!!

The different land formations and their unique colors made this part of the journey, Cafayate to Salta, one to remember!

On the fourth and final day of the roadtrip, the drive from Cafayate to Salta was amazing!

The ancient pre-Columbian ruins of ´Quilmes´.

On our third day of the ´Mendoza to Salta´roadtrip, we pretty much just drove all day. On the fourth, we went and saw the ancient pre-Columbian ruins of ´Quilmes´. They are located right outside of the city of Cafayate.

Finally....a giant cactus! They are everywhere in Northern Argentina.

One of the most interesting geoforms in the park was ´el Hongo´ or ´the Mushroom´in english.

This one area of the Moon Valley had many little round, stone balls scattered all over the ground.

¨Walk like an Egyptian!¨

There are also many interesting geoforms caused by the action of the wind over stones in ´The Moon Valley´. This one looked like the sphynx!

On our second day, we made it to the ´Valle de la Luna´, otherwise known as the ´Valley of the Moon´. Here, large quantities of fossils that are over 240 million years ago have been found. Amongst these fossils are those of dinosaurs!

This photo is of the ´Eoraptor Lunensis´. It is the oldest predator known up to the present (about 230 million years old.)

The entire area was very dry!

The road, which was gravel, switchbacked all the way through the mountains. It was pretty crazy.

After Mendoza, Daniel, Niel and I decided to go on a road trip together up to the northern city of Salta.

We enjoyed some wine and cheese at one of the vineyards. The most expensive wine out of them all was definetly the best.

Today, me and three guys from the hostel, Kevin, Neil and Daniel, all did the famous ´Bike and Wine´tour in Mendoza. The weather was perfect, sunny but not too hot and the road was flat all the way. It was great!

Me and my girlfriend Dana at the wine festival. I am so happy to have met her...she is awesome!!

For the past couple of days, I´ve been hanging out with my girlfriend, Dana, and her girlfriends at the Park Hyatt in Mendoza. It was lovely!

Last night, there was a wine festival in the hotel (which we managed to get into without paying!) and had a great time. From left to right: me, Dana, Anna and Miranda.

As I said before, I couldn´t stop taking photos of the mountains. I thoroughly enjoyed the drive between Santiago and Mendoza. Amazing!!

After leaving Pucon, I made my way to Mendoza, Argentina. To get there, we had to drive through the Andes which were absolutely amazing!! I think I took about 20 photos of the mountains because they were so spectacular.

Back at the bottom of the volcano. It took us almost 4 hours to hike up and only about 2 hours to come down. Overall, it was a great day and a fantastic experience. If anyone´s ever in the area, I would recommend hiking Pucon´s volcano!

There we go....we slid down the volcano on our bums!! It was pretty fun. The only drawback was that even with all our good gear, I still somehow managed to get snow down my pants and my bum froze.

A nice shot of the group. There were a couple of Chileno guys, a Brazilian woman, an American man, myself and our two Chilean guides. It was a great group! Here, we´re all decked out in our gear to go sliding down the volcano.

After looking into the crater, the group walked around the rim of the volcano taking in the surrounding views.

Here is a different view of the crater. You could hear the magma swirling around and definetly smell its gases. I saw a few little spurts of the magma but nothing major :( That would have been awesome but cést la vie. It was just super cool to be standing right next to the crater and experiencing some of Earth´s inner core.

We made it to the top of the volcano! Right behind the flag is the crater and you can see and smell its gases.

Right close the top, we were hiking on old lava flow. The last time the volcano erupted was in 1984.

There were quite a few groups climbing up the volcano. I was lucky and only had five people in my group.

The entire area is filled with mountains. The geography is amazing!
